Administrative History | Arthur Thomas was born in 1925 in Marleybone, London. He attended Upper Marleybone Street School, until the age of 11, when he left to attend the Lyulph Stanley Central School, St Pancras in 1936. When the Thomas family left St Pancras in 1936 and moved to 59 Hook Lane, Arthur Westwood Central School for Boys in Welling. Arthur Thomas enrolled in the Air Training Corp -No.358 Welling Squadron- on the 1st November 1942 and he was called up to join the RAF on 27th July 1943. He served in the RAF as a Radar Mechanic until 1st September 1946 and reached the rank of Corporal. After serving with the RAF Thomas went to work for electrical engineering firms: Landcroft Radio Ltd, 1947 and Kolster Brandes, 1958-1964. His last recorded residence was at 123A Halfway Street. |
