Administrative History | St Andrew's, Bostall Heath has its origins in open-air services held by the Vicar of All Saints, Belvedere for the inhabitants of the new estates on Bostall Heath in 1934. A wooden building was erected in 1935. However this building had to be abandoned due to bomb damage during the Second World War. The congregation was for a time transferred to St Peter's Bexleyheath. With the outbreak of peace St Andrew's began to revive. A new church was built and consecrated in 1957. Although it was still a daughter church of All Saints', Belvedere from 1962 the church had its own committee, funds and electoral roll. Finally in 1984 St Andrew's, Bostall Heath became a parish in its own right. |
