AdminHistoryJohn Cronin, who died in 1986 aged 84, was first elected a Councillor to the Borough of Bexley in 1937. He served as an ARP Warden during the Second World War while retaining his office as a Councillor. He was Mayor from 1947 to 1949 and was an Alderman for many years. He continued to serve on the Council of the London Borough of Bexley until 1968. His main interest was education and, for many years, he was Chairman of the Bexley Committee for Education.
